VelocityEHS has launched Vēlo, an artificial intelligence assistant designed to help safety professionals improve incident management and job safety analysis, according to the company.

The Denver-based firm unveiled the AI tool at the National Safety Conference Congress & Expo on Sept. 16. Vēlo is now available within select solutions on the company’s Accelerate Platform, with plans to expand to additional solutions in coming months.

“This is a flagship moment in our company’s history,” said Matt Airhart, CEO of VelocityEHS. “We’re embedding Vēlo into the solutions where it can have the most immediate impact.”

The launch comes as workplace safety improvement has stalled. The rate of serious workplace injuries and fatalities has remained virtually unchanged for more than 20 years, according to the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics cited by the company.

New AI features for incident management

The AI assistant will include three new features for incident management: AI Hazard Analyzer, AI Root Cause Identifier and AI Corrective Action Advisor, according to VelocityEHS.

These tools will suggest likely hazard types and root causes, then recommend corrective actions as users complete incident reports. The company says this will result in faster form completion, more accurate data capture and standardized classifications across locations.

The AI model was trained on thousands of real incidents and validated by safety experts, according to the company.

Job safety analysis enhancements

For operational risk management, Vēlo will offer AI Hazard Analyzer and AI Control Recommendations features. These tools will automatically recommend hazards and controls based on job task descriptions in Job Safety Analysis workflows, the company said.

VelocityEHS says the capability will enhance the speed, consistency and quality of risk assessments without requiring changes to existing workflows.

Company background

VelocityEHS describes itself as a global leader in environmental, health and safety software. The company says it protects over 10 million workers worldwide through its Accelerate Platform.

The firm offers solutions across safety, ergonomics, chemical management and operational risk, along with standalone solutions for contractor safety, environmental compliance and sustainability, according to the company.

VelocityEHS has been recognized as a 2025 Verdantix Green Quadrant Leader and is SOC 2 Type II attested, the company said.
