The Newfoundland and Labrador government has appointed Craig Dyer as a Worker Representative to the WorkplaceNL Board of Directors, effective immediately, according to Labour Minister Pam Parsons.
Dyer will serve a three-year term on the board that oversees the province’s workers’ compensation system, said Parsons on Sept. 11.
Dyer was appointed following a merit-based selection process handled by the Independent Appointments Commission, in accordance with the Independent Appointments Commission Act, according to the announcement.
WorkplaceNL operates an employer-funded, no-fault insurance system that works on workplace safety promotion, return-to-work programs, and compensation for injured workers and their dependents, the government said.
“I’m pleased to welcome Craig Dyer to the WorkplaceNL Board of Directors,” said Parsons. “His experience and perspective will be a valuable addition to the Board, and I look forward to the contributions he will make to advancing WorkplaceNL’s mandate.”
