Santee Cooper, South Carolina’s largest power provider, has selected ISNetworld as its main platform for managing contractor information, according to an announcement from ISN, the Dallas-based contractor and supplier management company.
The state-owned electric and water utility, headquartered in Moncks Corner, South Carolina, serves about two million people. Santee Cooper said it needed better visibility into contractor compliance and wanted to standardize its procedures across business units.
“ISN is providing hands-on support to help Santee Cooper implement a consistent approach to contractor management across our jobsites,” said Jim Ross, general manager, planning, projects and construction at Santee Cooper. “Through on-site engagement, virtual training, and in-person workshops, our teams have received support and guidance leading to more robust safety compliance processes.”
More than 95 per cent of Santee Cooper’s contractor base is now managed through the platform, the company said.
Santee Cooper is using several ISNetworld tools as part of the rollout. RAVS 360 is used to spot gaps in contractor training, safety and health policies, and safety culture. An online training tool delivers standardized training and onboarding to contractors. A centralized data system tracks contractor performance and helps the utility align with compliance requirements at each work site.
“Through ISNetworld, Santee Cooper is standardizing how contractor information is collected and reviewed to help identify gaps and support ongoing process improvement across its operations,” said Jenny Buckley, executive vice-president of energy at ISN. “ISN is proud to help Santee Cooper continue to develop a best-in-class contractor management program.”
ISN says it connects 900 hiring clients in capital-intensive industries with 90,000 active contractors and suppliers worldwide.
