Cannabix Technologies Inc. released product videos for its marijuana breath test system, showcasing the device’s features for workplace safety and law enforcement applications, according to the company.
The videos demonstrate the Marijuana Breath Test system, which uses a breath collection unit and breath cartridge to collect and preserve breath samples for laboratory analysis. The company said the device is designed to detect recent cannabis use through non-invasive breath sampling.
Cannabix cited the U.S. administration’s executive order to reclassify marijuana to Schedule III under the Controlled Substances Act as increasing the need for cannabis detection technologies in workplaces and roadside screening scenarios.
Technology and partnership details
The breath test system uses liquid chromatography-mass spectrometry methods to analyze samples for delta-9 THC, the primary psychoactive ingredient in cannabis, according to Cannabix.
The company partnered with Omega Laboratories Inc., a forensic drug testing provider, to advance commercialization of the system for customers in the United States and Canada. Omega holds federal and international certifications and operates a laboratory facility with experience in drug detection technologies, according to the announcement.

Product applications
Cannabix said the system is intended for use in workplaces, law enforcement settings and other environments where recent marijuana use detection is required. The company also develops BreathLogix, an alcohol screening device for workplace monitoring.
The product videos are available on the Cannabix Technologies website.
Cannabix Technologies Inc. trades on the Canadian Securities Exchange under the symbol BLO.
